Steve Kinsbursky, Chief Executive Officer
Steve grew up in the family scrap metal and recycling industry and has helped to build his family of recycling brands into the most respected providers in recycling today. As President of Retriev Technologies, Steve is dedicated to making sure that your battery management and recycling programs are handled responsibly, with accountability and best practices for closed loop recovery. Steve’s main objective is to make sure that his customers, people and processes are safe.
Steve holds a degree in Geography from UCLA (1976) and has been a pioneer in environmentally safe practices and closed loop materials recovery for over 35 years. Steve holds several proprietary patents for recycling processes and enjoys spearheading advancements in technology and developing new markets. Joseph Acker, President
Mr. Acker has worked in various capacities throughout the battery industry and has over 25 years of related experience in the battery recycling field. Mr. Acker started his career as part of a core team to design and successfully construct a large scale battery recycling operation for Exide Technologies. In 2010, he left his post as Vice president and General Manager of Exide’s recycling division and accepted the position of Vice President of Technology at Johnson Controls. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to Director of Recycling Operations and was responsible for Johnson Controls’ global recycling efforts.
These experiences make Mr. Acker the ideal candidate to lead Retriev Technologies into the 21st century. As president of Retriev Technologies, Mr. Acker will direct all facets of Retriev’s operations - including plant management, recycling line construction, technology R&D, customer acquisition and business development.
Ed Green, Senior VP - Ohio Operations
Ed oversees day-to-day logistics and processing at our flagship operations in Lancaster, OH and Baltimore, OH. These facilities focus on NiCad, NiMH, and Lead-Acid battery recycling. Ed possesses over 30 years experience in the metals industry and makes sure our existing and new processes are all meeting and exceeding regulatory guidelines.
Kathy Bruce, Senior VP - British Columbia Operations
Kathy Bruce manages our day-to-day process operations focusing on lithium and alkaline battery recycling in our British Columbia plant. Kathy possesses over 20 years experience in the metals industry and makes sure that we are in compliance with all regulations in Canada, as well as the United States.
Kathy is a knowledgeable and respected recycling executive and also speaks at international symposiums and conferences to educate industries on new technologies and regulations and recycling solutions. From international sales and education programs, to overseeing our Canadian interests, Kathy is an integral part of our leadership team.
